Reconstruction of the caprolactam production is taking place at the JSC Shchekinoazot

The reconstruction project of the oxidation workshop «Ê-60» entered the implementation stage. The adipic acid building on the Company territory has been dismantled. The construction of the 352C building has started, the foundation is being built. The designing is completed; the technical documentation, the estimate, the specification for the necessary materials (conduits and fittings) are received. The manufacturing of the heat-exchange assemblies, pumps and columns has begun at «Shchekinoazot» repair production. The technical equipment from the Russian manufacturing plants should arrive before the end of the year. The internal design of the fully-integrated assemblies made by the «Koch Glitch» firm will be received in May of 2012.

In the framework of the reconstruction of the caprolactam production the break in the work of the oxidation and cyclohexanone workshops is planned for the 1st of June of 2012. During this period of time there will be reconstruction works in the active production site of the 352 building, as well as the modernization and the optimization of the process flow sheets at the cyclohexanone workshop. The builders and fitters are to finish the construction of a new 352C building and disassemble the technical equipment, electrics and I&C tools.

During summer months it is planned to finish the installation works, test the equipment, do the running in and as early as September – the integration tests of the whole oxidation plant.
As a result of this extensional work the JSC «Shchekinoazot» will have a new cyclohexanone oxidation system that will meet the present requirements, advanced technology of cyclohexanone distillation and isolation, the technical and economic indices in the caprolactam and ammonium sulphate workshops will be improved.

The considerable reducing of steam usage, as well as the energy saving, the saving of reused water and the reducing of benzol consumption per unit product is also planned.
The company specialists are conducting a development work regarding the question of a possible construction of a new caprolactam production having a capacity of 100, 000 tons.
