The Hylectric line now includes 90,160, 225, 300, 400, 500, 650, 800 and 1,000 models, thereby enabling moulding of small parts like cosmetic containers to large-scale industrial parts. Hylectric is a hybrid injection moulding machine that combines hydraulic and electric drives. According to Husky, its machine runs moulds at the lowest tonnage in the industry and offers the highest tiebar spacing. An electric screw drive, variable displacement pumps and accumulator based injection combine to result in energy efficiency and fast cycle times. Said Marcus Sutch, Husky's Vice-President of Service and Sales, Asia: "There are three basic elements to our hydromechanical pump – a small diameter stroke cylinder to provide fast platen motion, low volume clamp piston to apply tonnage and rotary locking mechanism to couple the clamp piston and clamp column."
