LG Electronics (Pyeongtaek-si, Korea) and KraussMaffei have agreed to work together to drive technological development in plastics processing for electronics devices. The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Munich and LG Electronics also ordered more injection molding machines from KraussMaffei’s MX series. The machines will be installed in the development department of the company’s Mold Technology Center, currently under construction in Pyeongtaek-si, Korea.

“We’re delighted to announce this cooperation with LG Electronics. It shows that our partner recognizes our engineering know-how in injection and reaction molding and puts a high value on the benefits that come from integrating processes from both these fields of technology in multiprocess systems such as CoverForm, SkinForm or ColorForm,” points out Frank Peters, divisional manager at KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH.

The cooperation agreement is a logical further step in a working partnership that has already been in existence for three years and which began with the shipment of MX injection molding machines to LG Electronics. “With our positive experience of the high quality of KraussMaffei machines and the company’s comprehensive process know-how, this cooperation represents major progress in our development work,” emphasized Jae-Woong Yun, head of the Mold Technology Center at LG Electronics in Pyeongtaek-si.
