Great Lakes Solutions announces price increase on flame retardants| Subj: Press-releses At the beginning of July, Great Lakes Solutions (West Lafayette, Indiana / USA) – part of US speciality chemicals manufacturer Chemtura (Middlebury, Connecticut) – announced that it would raise the prices of its entire bromine franchise by USD 0.25/kg to USD 4/kg in all world regions. Certain increases already took effect on 1 July, Great Lakes Solutions said, adding that the remainder is to be implemented on 15 July – although it did not specify which exactly. The higher prices apply to: bromine, hydrobromic acid 24% and 28%, ethylene dibromide, dibromomethane, alkyl bromines, BA-59P (tetrabromobisphenol A), DE-83R (decabromodiphenyl oxide), Firemaster 2100R (decabromodiphenyl ethane), BC-52 and BC-58 (brominated carbonate oligomers), PDBS-80, Firemaster PBS-64HW, Firemaster CP-44HF polybromostyrene grades (up to 50%), PHT4 (tetrabromophthalic anhydride), PHT4-Diol, PHT4-Diol LV, Firemaster 500/600 series, PH-73FF (2,4,6 tribromophenol) and DP-45.
