Extrusion and mixing of silicone compounds

An innovative technology, which promises to revolutionise the processing of silicone compounds through the simplification of the colouring and additive process, has been created in Italy thanks to an agreement between Dow Corning and the Italian company, Colmec. It is a new "in situ" technique that allows users to mix and extrude Dow Corning's Silastic, a high density silicone compound in a single phase in the same plant. The equipment and plants will be manufactured exclusively by Colmec, which has acquired the license for construction, technical assistance and spare parts and accessories distribution in both Italy and abroad.
