Petainer completes deal to buy Rostiprimpac

Specialist plastics packaging technology business Petainer is to develop new products and markets following the acquisition of PET packaging manufacturer Rostiprimpac.

Petainer has purchased Rostimprac AB, based in Norrkoping in Sweden, and Rostiprimpac Verpackungen GmbH based in Leinefelde, Germany, from A.P. Moller Maersk.

Petainer has manufacturing plants at As in the Czech Republic and Lidkoping in Sweden where it also has an R&D centre. These are supported by sales offices in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The company is a leading European designer and manufacturer of plastics (primarily PET) packaging and has a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability.

Petainer group chief executive Nigel Pritchard said: “This acquisition will reinforce our strategic focus on innovation and the development of new products and services and will enable us to diversify into new market segments.
