Dow, BASF enter second phase for ethylbenzene/styrene in Brazil

Dow and BASF are carrying out a feasibility study for a global scale ethylbenzene/styrene monomer plant in Brazil.

They have started the second phase of the study which entails an evaluation of the supply of raw material and the exact form of the alliance.

The plant is expected to have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes/y and should start up in 2004.
