Anwil declares force majeure for PVC from Poland

Maximization of production in Spolana, Czech company from ANWIL Group, as well as basing on outer sources of raw materials and semi-products supply, are the solutions applied by ANWIL S.A. after a breakdown of electrolysis installation in the Chlorine and Soda Lye Plant. The aim of the applied procedures is minimization of the contractors’ impression that production of PVC, vinyl chloride and soda lye is limited.

Apart from the plant where there was a breakdown, all production processes in the PVC Compounds Complex are in working order and production readiness.

Nowadays, the effects of the breakdown are being estimated by an insurer. According to preliminary opinions, removing of the results of the incident will last for about five months.

The breakdown does not mean total cessation of production and sale of main products, i.e. polyvinyl chloride (PVC), as well as processed PVC. During removing of its results, other plants of the PVC Compounds Complex will continue production basing on semi-products and raw materials got from outside. Spolana will be also operating with full efficiency - this company, like its mother-company, produces PVC, vinyl chloride and soda lye.
