Arta Plast AB in Stockholm acquires the " Prepac" division of Oy KWH Plast Ab, Nykarleby

Packaging supplier Arta Plast (AP) AB located in Stockholm will acquire the injection moulding division of Oy KWH Plast in Nykarleby. This acquisition strengthens Arta Plast's position as a major player on the North European Market within the injection moulded rigid plastic packaging for the food industry.

Currently Arta Plast is active in northern Europe and KWH plastic has a strong base in Finland and Russia. This cooperation with AP and KWH Plast will position Arta Plast as one of one of the biggest suppliers of food packaging in northern Europe. In addition Arta Plast and KWH Plast will cooperate on the further development and sale of food packaging solutions. The packaging knowledge within Arta Plast combined with their patented 1-Seal technology (where the lids are sealed directly on to the cup) and the key competence within KWH plastics in the film area for packaging will allow for further development of unique packaging solutions.

"we have not only bought a production unit we have started a very interesting cooperation with an unique partner. With our common resources within the packaging area we will be able to create many new unique solutions that will make everyday life easier for the consumers. A close cooperation like this not only creates more environmentally friendly packaging, it will also free resources for growth within the core business areas within both companies." says Helge Steg, CEO for Arta Plast.

"for KWH plastic this will strengthen our focus on the production of film products that we continue to develop and we can combine this with Arta Plast's interesting packaging solutions that can utilize our film technology" says Marketing Director, Håkan Forss.

Whether the planned relocation of Prepac division from Nykarleby to Jakobstad will be done or not will be determined by discussions with the co-workers of KWH Plast, discussions which have been initiated.
