After a technical breakdown, Sunpor´s delivery capability is essentially assured
At the Radlberg site of the EPS* Manufacturer Sunpor, a technical breakdown at 12.20 p.m. on 16th April 2010 led to severe damage to th waste air purification unit. This incident caused no injuries, or damage to the environment. The ability of the company to maintain supplies is for the most part assured.
Repair to the damaged areas of the plant is already in progress, and it will be possible to re-start production at Sunpor’s Radlberg site within a few weeks. Production at Sunpor’s main St. Pölten site is unaffected.
This incident has no consequences as far as the production of Sunpor’s grey premium insulation product “Lambdapor” is concerned. The company’s other speciality grades of EPS remain for the most part freely available. The same applies to EPS grades used in the packaging industry. Fire retardant grades for the construction industry are for the most part available in reduced quantities.
