Vinyls Group Promotional Campaign Launched on Lorries
The Vinyls Group of the British Plastics Federation, which represents PVC producers, converters, additives suppliers and recyclers in the UK, has launched a major promotional campaign highlighting the beneficial role PVC can play in modern life.
An initiative suggested by one of the Group’s Members, Chemson, has finally been brought to fruition with the release of the first in a series of posters focussing on key areas where PVC can make a difference.
Launching the “Modern Life with PVC Plastic” campaign Roger Mottram, Chair of the BPF Vinyls Group said, "Every day our lives are improved and enhanced by the use of PVC products, but this is often taken for granted or simply not noticed. The BPF Vinyls Group are preparing a series of posters taking various themes illustrating how PVC products provide many significant and diverse benefits. This first poster on the theme of saving lives with PVC plastic is just a start of the campaign. Watch for more posters in the months to come."
Chemson were eager to get things rolling, taking the initiative by incorporating the posters onto the back of their fleet of lorries commenting that, “Our road networks have never been busier and as such provide a free, high volume advertising network.”
Phil Goodinson, Managing Director of Chemson said, “Increased media coverage and changes in legislation have now made it easier for the public to be misled or misinformed about the impact, which PVC and other plastics, have on our lives. As a stakeholder in the PVC industry, we feel we have a duty to defend and proactively promote the benefits of PVC to the general public.”
As the campaign develops it is hoped other industry members will be able to make use of the posters whether on their vehicles, or in offices and workplaces. Goodinson adds, “Only having a small fleet left Chemson a bit isolated to give this campaign the coverage it needs. Progress so far has been excellent and we now ask for the participation of fellow stakeholders to add strength to the campaign.”
BPF Vinyls Group spokesman Sarah Plant summed up the campaign commenting, “This is a highly creative campaign informing the wider public of the many ways in which PVC is a valuable resource in modern life. The Vinyls Group is committed to promoting the outstanding credentials of PVC and continues to develop new and innovative ways of representing the UK PVC Industry to Government, customers and media.”
