SalavatnefteorgsintezCivil and construction works at Salavatnefteorgsintez JSC low pressure polyethylene production unit are planned to be completed in September.

It is one of priority projects of our Company and a unique construction site of polyethylene production by suspension method in Russia.

Design capacity of this project is 120 thousand tons of polyethylene a year. Project investment totals to 6.3 billion rbl. The production facility occupies 5.4 hectares and has an expansion zone for simultaneously production of different grades of polyethylene in future.

The new production facility includes polymerization and purifying units, extrusion building, homogenization, storage and film production facilities.

29 grades of high density polyethylene shall be marketable products of the new project. They can be applied at manufacturing of high-quality gas and water pipes (PE 100), large containers, super thin packing film and many other items. By-products can be utilized for manufacturing of polymeric tiles, in bitumen production, road construction.

Ensuring products competitiveness, Salavatnefteorgsintez JSC has acquired one of the best polyethylene production engineering procedures by suspension method in the world (LyondellBasell, Germany). Basic feed stock for polyethylene production – ethylene – is produced at existing production facility EP-300 of our Company.

Basic and detailed engineering of new project has started in 2004 in cooperation with TECNIMONT, Italy. Today foreign experts from Italy, Germany, Holland, Japan, India constantly are present at the construction site and render consulting services at installation.

Commissioning of polyethylene production facility is planned for III-IV quarter 2009.
