Irregular shutdown of steam cracker in Litvinov in June 2009
At the beginning of June 2009 the Litvinov steam cracker will be irregularly shut down for approximately 16 days and preparation activities are in the process.
The reason for the shutdown is repair of propylene refrigerant system. Regular X-ray monitoring found reduction of pipe wall diameter in pipeline used for transport of liquid propylene refrigerant.
At the same time, we will take advantage of this shut down for fixing other problems, e.g. control system problems.
We are addressing the new situation with our customers in order to minimize inconveniences as well as the financial impact that this shutdown could cause. Supplies to our customers will be covered from the larger part from our inventories.
