Rosti trials Sumitomo electric machine commitment to fine tolerance manufacturing

With the merger of Sumitomo Heavy Industries and the Demag Plastics group, Rosti took the opportunity of trialing a Sumitomo SD180EU full electric machine. This will be the first electric machine to be used in Rosti’s facilities. The trial reflects Rosti’s commitment to fine tolerance manufacturing.

The location of the trial has been chosen to be at its state-of-the-art facility in Suzhou China as this site is leading the way within Rosti in terms of developments in Contract Manufacturing and cost effective solutions from design, manufacturing, logistics & distribution.

Currently Rosti China has 42 Demag Hydraulic machines. As cost of energy is soaring, the payback in the extra investment in an electric machine versus hydraulic becomes quicker and therefore the move justifies itself financially as well.
