Bottles made of PET plastic material (polyethylene terephthalate) are increasingly taking the place of the classical glass bottles becoming the favourite packaging for beverages. Lateltin Lanz Ingold based in Switzerland also decided in favour of this trendy form of packaging. kavo by greiner packaging produces PET containers holding 200, 500 and 1,500 millilitres for alcoholic mixed drinks and vodka variations.

Lateltin Lanz Ingold and kavo by greiner packaging are smartly joining forces following two market trends: On the one hand, the market for alcoholic beverages reveals the growing popularity of mixed drinks and on the other hand, PET bottles are increasingly replacing glass bottles on the packaging market.

The result of the fusion of these trends is alcoholic mixed drinks and vodka variations in PET bottles holding 200, 500 and 1,500 millilitres. During product development, particular significance was placed on emphasising the uniqueness of the products. Heinz Klausriegler, Market-Product Manager at kavo by greiner packaging says: “One of the central challenges was to accentuate the high quality of the content through the packaging solution. We are achieving great success with the PET containers.“

In addition to the visual plus points, the new packages also bring a series of convenience-relevant benefits for the end consumer. They are unbreakable, especially light-weight and transportation is definitely more easily manageable compared with glass bottles. Furthermore, they are easily recyclable and have excellent barrier properties. With regard to production, PET can be processed amorphously like glass, which allows for the creation of the most versatile shapes.
