Doeflex-Vitapol has extended its speciality PVC range with an improved version of Timbercel, a wood-composite PVC compound.
Originally launched in 2001, Timbercel offers the efficient processability of PVC but with the characteristics of wood. As such it is suitable for door frames, skirting, corniching, furniture trim and anywhere a satin, wood-like finish is needed.
It uses recycled wood originally from sustainable forests. But it also retains the flame retardancy, reduced water absorption and durability of PVC.
The wood-composite PVC grade is supplied in granule form, usually produced in natural base, but also available in a range of colours. Profiles made from Timbercel can be painted, stained or varnished. Also, it can be fastened using screws, nails or glue.
Timbercel has been formulated to run on conventional single and twin-screw PVC extruders.
A spokesperson for Doeflex-Vitapol told PRW.com the range of Timbercel products to be shown at K2007 has been improved and extended over the first product introduced in 2001. As well as having grades for extrusion, the company is introducing those for injection moulding and foamable versions. Doeflex-Vitapol is part of Vita Compounding, a division of Vita Group.
