Sealed Air acquires Alga Plastics

Sealed Air Corporation, the owner of global brands such as Bubble Wrap and Jiffy, has acquired Rhodes Island-based firm Alga Plastics, a designer of rigid packaging applications. Terms were not disclosed.

The New Jersey multinational said the acquisition enables it to build a presence in medical device packaging, and “accelerate geographic expansion of rigid tray, sealing machine and design service businesses in the US.”

Alga Plastics will be integrated into the $4.3bn-turnover parent company.
