Krauss-Maffei sets sights on 1 billion euro turnover
Krauss-Maffei believes it can drive a new strategy that will increase turnover to ˆ1bn, chief executive Dietmar Straub said at a K2007 preview event in Germany today.
Emerging this year from the restructuring of the Mannesmann Plastics Machinery group, the KM holding group includes Swiss firm Netstal, which operates as an independently managed company.
MPM manages the Demag Plastics Group and KM Holding separately within the group.
Sales at the "new KM" – incorporating Berstorff, but excluding Netstal – reached ˆ706m in the 2005/06 fiscal year. In the first half of this year (October 2006 to March 2007), the new KM's sales rose by 9%, while orders increased by 8.5%.
With its new independence, KM can drive a strategy around the integrated offering of all its process technologies, said Straub, likening this strategy to an all-wheel drive car controlled by one engine.
He said KM is unique among machinery companies in offering injection moulding, extrusion and reaction technologies.
The KM stand at K 2007 will showcase more than 20 machines and components from KM and Berstorff.
