Basell to increase its advanced polyolefin prices in Europe, Middle East and Africa
Effective July 1, Basell will increase its prices in Europe, Middle East and Africa for its Adflex and reactor grade Hifax products by ˆ 60 per tonne and for its Adsyl products by ˆ 100 per tonne. In addition the company will increase the price for compounded Hifax and Hostacom products in line with the most recent raw material increases.
“Demand for these products is very strong and we need to fully restore our margins to ensure long term sustainability of supply,” said Paul Yeates, managing director of Basell Sales & Marketing Company B.V. and president of Basell’s Advanced Polyolefins Business.
Basell’s polypropylene resins based on the Catalloy process are marketed under the trade names Adflex, Adsyl and Hifax. These resins, which possess a broad range of properties from flexibility to stiffness, are used to produce customer applications in the building and construction, compounding, specialty and packaging film as well as automotive industries. Hostacom is Basell’s trade name for glass-fibre reinforced, mineral-filled grades and unfilled coloured grades used in customer applications such as electrical appliances, automotive interiors and under-the-hood components.
