Hyundai builds concept car featuring GE Plastics technology
The Hyundai Qarmaq CUV concept car will be on show at the Plastics in Automotive Glazing conference in Germany, later this month.
The Qarmaq, featuring GE Plastics technology, has so far only been shown at the Geneva Motor Show that was held in March.
Two component moulding integrates the seals and mechanical functions within the glazing components of the Qarmaq to produce a seamless flush window.
Other Qarmaq features include movable side glazing designed to give driver and passengers an all round open-air experience.
It also boasts an integrated panoramic sunroof/fractal antenna with UV blocking technology and an electroluminescent interior light band.
The Plastics in Automotive Glazing conference is being organised by the magazine European Plastics News (EPN).
EPN editor Chris Smith said: “The Qarmaq is a prime example of what plastics in automotive glazing can help car manufacturers achieve, from enhanced design opportunities to weight reduction.”
The conference takes place on 27-28 June at the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel, Frankfurt. Delegates include those from VW, Ford, Honda, Daimler Chrysler as well as glazing producers and suppliers.
