Special products and connectors sold to Finnish company.
Perlos has sold its special products and connectors business to Valukumpu Oy in north Karelia which will save at least 56 Perlos employee jobs.
Negotiations between the Finnish plastics group and Valukumpu Oy began after Perlos announced earlier in the year that it would cease production.
Closure of Perlos Finnish operations was first mooted at the beginning of the year (see PRW.com 15/01/2007) as a means of improving profitability.
Valukumpu Oy specialises in injection moulding of technical plastic parts and the manufacture of tools.
The assembly automation business was sold to Mecania Oy in March and the injection moulding business was sold to Gritech Oy in April.
Perlos is still in talks with other companies concerning, for example, the possibility of expanding their operations into Perlos’s premises and employing Perlos personnel.
