Company will market Nanocyl’s carbon nanotube products across Europe.
Belgium-based carbon nanotube manufacturer Nanocyl has appointed pan-European specialist materials distributor Velox to handle its carbon nanotube-based products.
The agreement with Velox covers distribution of Nanocyl’s NC7000 industrial grade multi-wall carbon nanotubes and PlasiCyl thermoplastic concentrates across Europe and Turkey.
Nanocyl global business development manager Olivier Decroly said the move is part of its plans to accelerate commercial development of its product line and to significantly increase penetration into the European plastics, rubber, paints and coatings markets.
“Velox is a leading company for the distribution of specialty raw materials and we believe that the role of Velox will be crucial in the expansion of our market presence in Europe,” he said.
Nanocyl’s carbon nanotube products are mainly used as conductive additives in polymers for applications such as anti-static plastics for automotive fuel systems and electronics parts manufacturing.
The materials can also be used in electrostatic painting, transparent antistatic coatings, and reinforcement of technical rubbers and carbon fibre thermoset composites.
