Radici Novacips establishes China footprint

26 April 2007 – Radici Novacips has established the first manufacturing base in China for the Italian Radici group.

RadiciPlastics (Suzhou) will be based roughly 80km northwest of Shanghai and produce polyamide compounds, and possibly in the future polyesters thereby offering the complete Radici group product range.

At an openhouse event held in Bergamo last year, a capacity of 6,000tpa for the Chinese plant was given (see PRW.com 12 June 2006).

Employing approximately 40 people, the new facility is expected to satisfy the growing domestic demand for polyamide, which Radici Novacips is expecting to run at an average growth rate of 13%.

The driver for growth in the Chinese market comes mainly from the automotive market, said Radici Novacips in its statement, as well as from the electrical and electronic components sector.

“Suzhou was selected as the site for our new plant primarily because there is a large numberof companies in the area specialising in the automotive sector,” said Cesare Clausi, global account manager of Radici Group plastics sector.

The Group has had a sales presence in China since 2003 in the form of RadiciChem Shanghai.
