2 April 2007 – The Polytec Group looks set to acquire the moulding business of Menzolit-Fibron, a subsidiary of Plastal Holding, and a leading manufacturer of composite parts in sheet moulding compound (SMC) and long fibre thermoplastics (LFT) in the automotive industry.
Headquartered in Kraichgau-Gochsheim in Germany, Menzolit-Fibron achieved sales of ˆ169m last year, operating 8 manufacturing plants: Germany (5), Slovakia (2) and Turkey (1).
The deal expands Polytec’s geographical reach and based on last year’s figures should boost turnover to ˆ700m.
Menzolit-Fibron is part of the Dynamit Nobel Kunststoff group, which was acquired by Plastal at the end of 2005. Its integration into the Polytec automotive composites division is likely to produce the largest supplier in Europe for moulded composite components, modules and systems.
