23 March 2007 – Cabot Corporation has appointed United Trading System (UTS) as its principal distributor in Russia.
UTS is a Swedish-Russian joint venture that distributes for more than 100 manufacturers, including Borealis, BASF, Hexion, Akzo Nobel and Huntsman from its headquarters in St Petersburg.
UTS Scandinavia is responsible for the organisation of product supplies to Russia, Ukraine and CIS countries, while the Russian partner ETC takes charge of the sales and distribution operations in the region.
The company, which had a turnover of $102m in 2006, will offer Cabot’s full range of black, white, grey and additive masterbatch.
Cabot’s technical sales manager for Eastern Europe, Mark Burdon, said: “We see great potential for Cabot’s masterbatches right across the Russian plastics processing industry, from injection moulding to film production.”
