20 March 2007 – The Demag Plastics Group has said the decision to separate it from Krauss Maffei is an “opportunity to further develop our business in the long term”.
Demag made this statement following the news that it will remain an independent entity managed separately from the new Krauss Maffei (see PRW.com 16 March 2007).
Demag chief executive, Dr Erkes, said: “We no longer have to take into account objectives and strategies of the other brands.
“We can fully implement our own strategy, focusing on our target customer clusters and provide them with a clearly structured product offering and specific application technologies.”
He added that over the past 18 months Demag has gone through a restructuring process, realigning processes and products putting it on a solid foundation.
Demag is also a leading toggle injection moulding machine producer with a focus on small and mid-size machines. Erkes said Demag, with its IntElect all-electric injection moulding machine and other products meant it was “well-positioned in this fast growing market”.
The company said it is the third largest IMM manufacturer in Europe and is well positioned globally. It boasts a well-established production site in China, joint venture in India and good market position in the US.
