Wavin snaps up Norwegian cable ducts supplier

5 February 2007 – Pipe manufacturer Wavin has bought Polyfemos, a Norwegian manufacturer of cable duct systems for telecom access networks, for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Alta, Polyfemos has 20 employees and reported 2006 revenues of ˆ5m. The acquisition is expected to be completed by 31 March.

Plastic cable duct systems are used to guide and protect fibre optic cables in the ground and within buildings during the installation and enhancement of modern access networks.
