12 January 2007 – RTP Company has added multiple long fibre-reinforced thermoplastic (LFRT) production lines at its manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, targeting the Chinese automotive and industrial application markets.
RTP opened the 16,000 sq metre facility in December 2005 (PRW.com 12 December 2005).
The US-based specialty compounder has also boosted its LFRT capabilities by opening a long fibre facility near its Winona, Minnesota headquarters, as well as installing additional lines at several of its worldwide operations last year.
RTP executive vice president Joe Kluck said: “The new LFRT lines will support our rapidly-growing automotive and industrial customer base in China along with offering long fibre technology to other markets for applications requiring higher strength at lighter weights.”
The RTP-produced LFRT compounds are based on various resin systems including nylon and polypropylene.
