11 December 2006 – Colin Brookes of Boston Matthews has succeeded Sepro Robotique’s Paul Goodhew as chairman of the PMMDA (Polymer Machinery Manufacturers & Distributors Association). Goodhew has stood down after a five year stint and Conair’s Ted Waller and Colin Taylor of Uniloy Milacron have also left the association’s committee.
New members of the committee are Nigel Flowers of Demag Hamilton, Karl Miller of Colortronic and Andy Gibbens of Motan who join Tim Peet (UK Plastics Machinery) and Glyn Isaac of Krauss Maffei on the committee.
At its recent meeting the PMMDA welcomed five new member companies in the shape of Piovan UK, the recently established branch of the Italian ancillary maker, Tool-Temp and Plastics Ancillaries which represent Xaloy and MPI pressure sensor controllers.
The other newcomers are D&M Machinery, second equipment supplier, and Farrow Machinery which represents Bekum blow moulding machinery, Delta downstream equipment, Fasti chillers and dryers and STT surface treatment in the UK.
