30 November 2006 – PolyOne has announced plans to set up a liaison office in Mumbai, India, to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
Ludovic Tonnerre, PolyOne’s business development director for Asia, said the new local office enables the company to better serve existing customers in India and to develop new business opportunities.
A full range of PolyOne’s engineered plastics, TPE compounds, non-halogen materials as well as colour and additive masterbatch products will be available to its Indian customers. Tushar Parida will be the company’s lead representative at the new Mumbai office.
In addition, PolyOne is considering the setting up of a local production base in India as part of the market expansion – though no firm plans have been made yet.
“With an overall growth in plastics of 8-10% in India, customer demand in some regions is such that in the next 12 months we may need to continue to invest in India,” said Tonnerre.
Key markets for PolyOne in India include the electrical, automotive, packaging and wire and cable application sectors.
