Craemer sets up in Telford

21 November 2006 – The Craemer Group of Germany has started production in the UK of wheely bins and stacking stock crates for the European market.

The Kliko brand bins are mainly for local authorities but also produced bespoke for other uses such as use as recycling containers.

The stock crates are mainly for the fisheries industry for holding fish freshly caught at sea. Paul Corscadden,UK operations director, told PRW.com that production using HDPE sourced in Europe started in October and runs 24 hours a day, five days a week.

But they hope to bring this up to seven days a week eventually, said Corscadden who joined Craemer UK a year ago from automotive compression moulder Polynorm in St Helen’s where he was technical director.

In the UK 15 operatives were hired to join the 15 sales people already working for Craemer in two small offices in Manchester and Telford.

Both sales offices have been closed and now work alongside the operatives at the newly acquired factory site in Telford.

Craemer’s core business is metal forming, tool construction and plastics processing, employing around 510 people in Germany, Slovakia and the UK. Sales in 2005 were around ˆ120m.
