Rechling acquires three plastics processing companies
7 November 2006 – Rechling Group has reaffirmed its transformation into a pure plastics company by acquiring three plastics processing companies, in Denmark, Germany and the UK.
The move follows the earlier acquisition of Seeber Belgium in 2005 (PRW.com, 13 June 2005).
With the acquisition of Metaplast in Denmark with its Danish and Latvian production plants, SGT Spritzgießtechnik in Germany and the General Engineering business unit of the Canadian GL&V company in the UK, Röchling has acquired a diverse portfolio of companies.
Metaplast is active in machined plastics parts, SGT Spritzgießtechnik in technical injection moulding, and General Engineering in extruded profiles and finished parts. The companies acquired have 150 employees and turnover totalling €18m.
Rechling group chairman Georg Dufner said: “With the purchase of the three companies we have started the planned expansion of our business activities in plastics processing. These companies fit very well for us and it will be possible to quickly integrate them into our group.”
But the expansion story does not end here. Dufner said further companies will be acquired in the near future. He concludes; “Röchling will resolutely continue its path to a worldwide leading plastics processor.”
