3 November 2006 - The floorplan for the next Plastics Design & Moulding exhibition, which takes place in Telford on 15-17 April 2008, has been expanded by 10% to allow for further growth.
Approximately 64% of this larger total area has already been sold, despite the fact that stand space has only been on sale for one month and to date it has only been offered to companies that took part in this year’s event in September.
“This year’s PDM was a great success, with more exhibitors, a larger exhibition area and more visitors than our launch event in 2005,” said event director, Andy Beevers. “Based on the positive response we are getting to the event from exhibitors and visitors alike, we are confident that it will continue to grow and we have therefore added more stand space to accommodate this expansion”.
A total of 116 companies have already rebooked for the 2008 show, including leading suppliers of machinery, ancillaries, materials and additives, as well designers, mould makers and moulders.
One of the many exhibitors that will be returning to PDM 08 is MCP. Speaking at the Telford exhibition in September, the firm’s sales engineer, Rob Weston said: “It’s been a good show for us – and profitable! We’ve seen a wide range of customers and sold two injection moulding machines off the stand.”
Another happy exhibitor that will be back for the next event is Petford Tools. At this year’s event, the company’s managing director explained: “This is the first time we’ve exhibited anywhere in 34 years and we’ll be coming back in 2008. No question.”
Hi-Tech Automation’s Gary Probert was also positive about this year’s event and has rebooked for the next one. “We’ve seen lots of top management people with both new and existing customers coming on to the stand. We’ve already signed up for 2008,” he said.
On the materials side, many suppliers are also looking forward to the next PDM. Peter Zlattinger of Ashland Plastics said: “PDM absolutely fits the bill. We’ve seen lots of people on the stand and identified new customers. The quality of the visitors has been very good. We’ll be here in exactly the same place in 2008”.
Distrupol’s Sean Dunkley was equally enthusiastic. “A fantastic event that has generated more business leads for us and still maintained its high quality,” he said, adding: “We can’t wait for PDM 08!”
The remaining space goes on general sale this week and demand for stands is expected to be high. Prices start at just £950+VAT for a 4 sqm shell scheme stand and there are a range of competitively priced all-inclusive packages on offer. For example, a 9 sq metre shell scheme stand with furniture, electricity and lighting is priced at £2,300+VAT.
The floorplan will be published for the first time in the centre pages of this Friday’s PRW. For details on exhibiting at PDM 08, visit www.pdmevent.com or contact the sales team on +44 (0)20 8277 5511 or e-mail [email protected].
