The acquisitive group has taken a minority holding in HCM Stampi
Arrk Product Development Group has taken a strategic shareholding in Italian mould making business HCM Stampi. A majority shareholding remains in the hands of the Rossi family.
HCM specialises in moulds for automotive applications, including instrument panels, bumpers, side panels, interior and exterior trim and under bonnet components. It operates two plants in the Turin area, at Moncalieri and San Martino, employing around 150 people.
Arrk’s investment also gives it access to Martinplast, another toolmaker which is 100% owned by HCM. Martinplast has expertise in moulds for technical and aesthetic parts.
Arrk European managing director Peter Rawson said: “By joining forces with one of Italy’s leading tooling companies it gives us not only access to their expertise and experience in the automotive market but it also gives us a strategic foothold and facility in Italy.”
In 2005, Arrk acquired stakes in a large number of toolmakers in other European countries: PCL Group, Sermo, Zimmermann, MSX International UK and Jordans (Toolmakers).
