Spanish ABS facility in production again after last month’s fire
Two compounding lines for ABS production are back on stream at its Tarragona facility in Spain, says the chemical manufacturer Lanxess.
A fire hit the plant in August, causing the company to declare force majeure on its supplies.
“One section of the compounding lines is now back in full production,” said Dr Stefan Michel, head of the Europe and Latin America region of Lustran Polymers, the newly named styrenics division of Lanxess. “I am confident that we can also conclude the repair work on the other compounding lines as planned.”
The project to expand capacity in Tarragona has not been affected by the fire, added the company.
