Zotefoams highlights progress with new foam

UK-based Zotefoams, which this morning reported a 60% rise in its pre-tax profits and improved margins, has launched what it says is “the world’s first nylon foam.” Offering excellent high-temperature performance and resistance to many chemicals, including hydrocarbons, the product is now ready to launch and Zotefoams is in the process of introducing it across its customer base, reports chairman Bill Fairservice. The newcomer follows Zotek fluoropolymer- based foam, introduced in January, in extending the polyolefin basis of the Zotefoams range.

The company lifted its key financial indicators in the six months to the end of June, raising sales by 16% to £15.88m and pre-tax profits before exceptionals by 60% to £1.52m. Zotefoams has taken a £1.09m charge to cover the costs of terminating its marketing agreement with Japanese foams maker Sekisui, it reveals today. Instead, it is boosting its direct selling coverage of the market and putting a full time employee into the Asian market for the first time.
