The French processing group reports 15% year-on-year first half revenue growth
French plastics processing group Plastic Omnium today published a consolidated revenue figure for the first half of 2006 of E1.209bn, up by 15% on the same period in 2005.
The company described the result as a “strong” performance with all of its business divisions contributing to revenue growth. It says the result is equivalent to a 2.3% revenue gain on a constant exchange rate and scope of consolidation basis.
First half revenues in the company’s automotive operations, which includes Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior and Inergy Automotive Systems, were up by 17% to E1.039bn. Strongest gains were seen in the Asian, Mexican and South American markets.
The automotive performance was helped by the inclusion of results from the Inoplast hatchback manufacturing business for the first time, which accounted for E116m of sales. The gain was 8% at constant scope of consolidation.
Plastic Omnium Environment saw first half revenues grow by 1.6% to E126m, while the Performance Plastics Products business saw an 11% gain to E45m.
