Kutno unit is company’s second in Central Europe

PolyOne is to set up a manufacturing unit at Kutno, in Poland, which is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of next year. Initially, the new plant will make colour masterbatch for the extrusion and moulding industries. Kutno is centrally located close to the main Berlin-Moscow route. The operation will be the US group’s second in central Europe when it comes on stream; in 1998, PolyOne set up a plant at Gyor, in Hungary, and it also has sales offices in Krakow and Prague. “The Kutno facility will allow us to serve the needs of the rapidly growing market in Poland as well as to provide strong partnering support for our existing European customers who are establishing their own manufacturing sites in central and eastern Europe,” said Bernard Baert, vp and general manager International Colors and Engineered Materials.
