New cast line will lift production capacity to 30,000 tpa

Italian cast PP film producer B-Pack Due, part of Gruppo Colines, will shortly commission a new 4.5m wide line as part of a major capacity expansion at its Livorno site. The new Polycast 4500 line, supplied by machinery maker and sister company Colines, will increase B-Pack Due’s cast PP capacity to around 30,000 tpa.

It will also allow the company to broaden its product offering when it begins production in the second half of this year. The investment follows B-Pack Due’s installation of a power cogeneration plant, enabling it to generate its own electricity and eliminate micro-interruptions in supply that can cause film quality problems.
