The French and Portuguese plants serve meat and poultry markets

Finnish packaging giant Huhtamaki is selling its expanded polystyrene businesses in France and Portugal. French Ono Packaging is buying the businesses, which have combined annual sales of E21m and approximately 130 employees.

Huhtamaki France is located in Auneau, south-west of Paris, while Huhtamaki Embalagens Portugal is in Setubal, near Lisbon. Timo Salonen, executive vice-president, Rigid Packaging Europe, said: “The sold units serve the local meat and poultry packaging market and have dedicated EPS assets. We will continue growing our capabilities and capacity in alternative technologies serving European fresh food markets.”
