The Tetra Pak pouch has been used in fruit juice packaging

Tetra Pak has announced the first aseptic stand-up pouch to be made in transparent plastic. The clear, squeezable packaging was launched last year in Mexico with fruit juice producer Jumex. The Tetra Wedge Aseptic Clear pack is used in a juice drink aimed at children aged 6 to 12 years.

Tetra Pak is now introducing the packaging to selected markets across the world. It said market research had confirmed the appeal to youngsters, who love its “squishy” feel. The multilayer structure of the packaging film uses a PET/SiOx oxygen barrier system that has been seen in other stand-up products from Tetra Pak.
