Decoplast employs more than 300 people at two plants in France

Aluminium and packaging producer Alcan will sell Decoplast – its European Beauty blow-moulded bottle business – to French plastics converter IPH Groupe Spid.

This deal was accepted unanimously by the workers’ council, according to Alcan. The sale includes Decoplast sites in La Roche sur Foron and Senlis, both in France. Decoplast recorded sales of E26m in 2004 and employs 312 people. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Alcan Packaging president and chief executive Christel Bories said: “This transaction will enable Decoplast to benefit from new market opportunities with IPH Group Spid.” IPH Groupe Spid specialises in the injection of technical and design parts for the automotive, food and general packaging markets.
