Degussa and Baerlocher Reach New Agreement for Cooperation on PVC Modifiers

Degussa AG and Baerlocher GmbH are restructuring their joint marketing of PVC additives. As a sales agent, Baerlocher will now be in charge of technical and commercial customer service on behalf of Degussa. Both will work together to foster direct contact with customers. On the basis of the technology platform available at its Wesseling plant, Degussa manufactures, as it has in the past, emulsion polymerizates, so-called (meth)acrylate polymers, which are used as processing aids and impact modifiers for PVC. Research and development will still take place at Degussa's Hanau-Wolfgang site.

The new agreement continues a nearly 20-year partnership for both companies, based on a new marketing structure. The new structure will allow customers to contact producers and developers directly and quickly. At the same time, it will preserve proven synergies with Baerlocher's stabilizer business. Customers will also continue to benefit from access to Baerlocher's expertise in application technology. With this new constellation, Degussa and Baerlocher will intensify their cultivation of the market in PVC modifiers significantly.
