Lanxess has established a joint venture with two Chinese firm

Lanxess has established a joint venture with two Chinese firm to produce rubber chemicals. Together with chemical company Xinda and Shanghai-listed investor Anhui, the venture will start producing the antioxidant Vulkanox 4020 at a new production plant in Tongling, Anhui province, from the second half of 2006.

The product from Tongling will be exclusively marketed in China, according to Lanxess. The staining antioxidant (6-PPD) is commonly used to prevent fatigue in rubber and is effective in protecting against ozone degradation. Lanxess said it will be the first foreign company to make 6-PPD in China. The new company will be called Anhui Tongfeng Shengda Chemical Company.
