German PVC maker Vinnolit is to expand its capacity

German PVC maker Vinnolit is to expand its capacity for paste PVC at its Burghausen plant in southern Germany. The project will lift the company’s capability at the site from 50,000tpa to 71,000tpa and is aimed at keeping up with demand from a number of markets notably eastern Europe, managing director Josef Ertl said.

Further spending is to be carried out at the Knapsack plant where Vinnolit will increase capacity for key PVC feedstocks chlorine, EDC and VCM. Overall, the projects will cost E30m.

Vinnolit, whose overall PVC capacity is 650,000tpa, is the leading producer of paste grades of PVC and has a strong position in variety of speciality types of the polymer.
