Bayer MaterialScience announced price increase for its polycarbonates and polycarbonate blends

Effective December 1, 2004 Bayer MaterialScience announced a price increase of 0,40 Euros per kilogram in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region for its polycarbonates and polycarbonate blends Makrolon®, Apec®, Bayblend® and Makroblend®.

This pricing initiative is a result of both strong demand and the necessity to restore margins that have been heavily impacted by rising raw material and energy costs. All existing contractual obligations will be met.
