Soligran to make compounds for cable market in Russia

Soligran, Solvay SA’s Russian vinyl compounds joint venture, is expanding production in Tver. The plant already is supplying Russian processors with rigid compounds for panels and window profiles, as well as soft compounds for shoe making. Now Soligran plans to add compounds for the cable industry. The plant can process 99 million pounds annually.

Soligran formed in mid-2003 to take advantage of rapid growth in Russia´s plastics processing sector. The 50-50 venture is owned by Brussels, Belgium-based Solvay and Nikos Group, a financial and manufacturing company based in Moscow.
