BASF increases prices for BDO and derivatesEffective December 1, 2004, BASF is increasing the sales prices for 1,4 Butanediol (BDO) and its derivatives worldwide, as far as existing contracts permit: The reasons for this increase are increased costs and unsatisfactory margins. 1,4-Butanediol (BDO): + 0.30 USD/kg Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL): + 0.30 USD/kg N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP - all grades): + 0.30 USD/kg Tetrahydrofuran (THF): + 0.35 USD/kg Polytetramethylene-etherglycol (PolyTHF®): + 0.35 USD/kg With seven plants on three continents BASF is the world biggest maker of butanediol and its derivatives. The company has an annual production capacity of 575.000 mt BDO globally. BDO and its derivatives are used for producing engineering plastics, polyurethanes, solvents, electronic chemicals and elastic fibers (PolyTHF®). Source: BASF Previous news |
