Very soon CHINAPLAS 2019 will open its door in Guangzhou, China, for international exhibitors and visitors. The annual event, which alternates between two Chinese cities of Shanghai and Guangzhou, will run from May 21–24, 2019 at China Import and Export Complex, Guangzhou. With the theme of “Innovation is Key to the Future”, more than 3,500 exhibitors will be showcasing their cutting-edge products and solutions. Among them, 140 will be making their debuts in China, Asia or globally.
CHINAPLAS 2019 will house more than 3,500 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions in an exhibition area of over 250,000sqm. It is expected that about 180,000 visitors (30% from overseas) from 150 countries and regions will attend the show, which will focus on smart manufacturing, innovative materials, green and circular solutions.
These are all current hot topics of the global and Chinese plastics and rubber industries, according to Ada Leung, General Manager of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. For example, circular economy is under the spotlight in many places of the world. China is also promoting efficient recycling of plastics at the moment.
Becoming an innovation hub
“CHINAPLAS, which is now serving mainly China and the Asian markets, will focus more on innovative technology and their applications,” said Ada Leung adding the show has already been recognized as an effective buying and selling platform in the plastics-related industry.
CHINAPLAS will become the innovation hub for plastics-related industries outside Europe and the US and contribute more to the global plastics industry, she said, adding that international visitors of CHINAPLAS are expected to increase continuously, especially those from Asian countries and emerging markets around the world.

Recycling and circular economy take center stage
Confirmed speakers come from organizations and enterprises include: Ellen MacArthur Foundation, CEFLEX, EUROMAP, SABIC, Dow, ExxonMobil, NatureWorks, EREMA, Polystar, Sorema, Bandera, Wittmann Battenfeld, etc.
In addition, the Recycled Plastics Zone is set up for the first time at the show, gathering leading exhibitors from China, Japan, Egypt, Latvia, etc. They will display high-performance and recyclable materials such as rPET, LDPE, and PP.
Meanwhile, the Recycling Technology Zone is upgraded with a stronger lineup this year. Solutions for the whole recycling production chain will be introduced, including sorting, granulating, washing, drying and pelletizing. Renowned exhibitors include Torma, Buhler Sortex, Sesotec,Pierret, etc.
Concurrent events to shed lights on latest trends
At the fairgrounds, there will be two themed areas, Manufacturing Intelligence Control Room and Smart Factory. The control room will display operational data recorded in machines operating at different booths and various factories in Singapore, Sweden and China.

Tech Talk this year will delve deeper into the applications and highlights practicality, with topics refined to include 11 major themes, such as New Energy Vehicle, TPE for Automobile, Long Fiber Processing, In-Mold Labeling, Precision Extrusion, 3D Printing, etc.
The Design x Innovation this year will consists of three parts: CMF Inspiration Walls, Design Forum and CHINAPLAS Designers’ Night.
With more exhibitors entering the medical sector, the concurrent event Medical Plastics Connect expands in scale. Activities will include Open Forum, Pop-up Kiosk, and Medical Plastics Guided Tour.
