ST Blow Moulding Doubles-Up: Open House in Monza simultaneously with PLAST 2018

 |  Subj: Press-releses

Plast 2018, the most important European exhibition of plastics processing technologies after the Dusseldorf “K” show, opens its doors on May 29th in Fiera Milano pavilions in Rho-Pero. The triennial event in Milan is long awaited due to the strong growth of Italian companies, recorded in this sector, over the last 12 months.

Thanks to this positive perspective ST Blow Molding is doubling its proposal to visitors. In addition to the stand at the Plast exhibition (Hall 22—Stand B122), ST has also organised an Open House in their historic home at the Monza factory. This will provide the opportunity for visitors to “touch” the heritage of technologies and skills of the most important Italian-Swiss blow molding machine manufacturer for industrial applications.

For four days of the exhibition a dedicated shuttle service, departing from ST’s booth, every morning at 10:00, will be available for pre-registered visitors. In about 25 minutes they will be accompanied to ST’s Blow Moulding site in Monza, where the visitors will be welcomed with a short presentation and a tour of the production area.

Several machines will be on display (some in operation with a mould), and among them two brand new machines:
• ASPI 150.3 DUO—This new model is characterized by a single head-extruder unit that feeds two independent 200kN clamping units which move alternately from one clamping unit to the other. Like all the machines of the ASPI series, this new model is designed for blow moulding 3D articles using parison suction technology, but it can also be used for 2D blow-moulding: each clamping unit is ready for a blow-mould unit installation from below (optional on request) while the application of the clamping force with hydraulic cylinders guarantees perfect parison welding and cutting, regardless of the mould thickness.

• ISIT 400—“2D” blow molding machine with 400 kN clamping unit and 8 liter accumulator head: the machine is equipped with a small high efficiency extruder, the “HEX 50/30”.

ISIT series machines—up to 2000 kN of clamping force—are characterized by their very low energy consumption, thanks to the technical solutions adopted: high efficiency extruders, variable hydraulic pump speed, heated surface thermal isolation. Many ISIT series models achieve the highest class energy rating (consumption of less than 0.29 kWh per each kg processed HDPE), as measured according to Euromap 46 test methodology (specifically dedicated to extrusion blow molding machines).
• ISIT 200—This is the latest member of the ISIT series for “2D” blowing and the smallest (200 kN clamping force): it sits at the bottom of the ISIT range. The model displayed at the ST Open House is equipped with a 4 litre accumulator head and a high efficiency HEX 40/30 extruder.

• ASPI 150.3—This is ST’s most successful model for blow moulding 3D articles using parison suction technology; with more than 120 units delivered to all the major multinational groups in the market; ASPI blow molding machines are now considered the reference technology, all over the world, for the production of air ducts for the “air induction system” of turbocharged engines.
This ultimate version integrates some of the latest developments:
—The new pressurized parison lubrication circuit with remote control, independent flow rate and nebulization (which can be modified at any time of the cycle);
—The new “D-Print” high definition parison marking system: very high ink emission speed and adjustable intensity guarantee an incomparable marking accuracy, drastically reducing process set-up time and cost. An auxiliary cleaning circuit with a solvent tank is included in the D-Print system: when activated at the end of the marking sequence, it prevents any risk of clogging in the marking circuit and nozzle due to residual drying.

ST’s technical-commercial staff will be available to answer visitor’s questions. It will be an opportunity to gather valuable information and visitors will share an “ST experience” of innovation, professionalism and customer care.
A buffet with refreshments and a gadget to remember the visit by will conclude the trip at around 2pm. All participants will be returned to the fair by the shuttle service organized by ST.

On the other hand, those who are more interested in getting to know ST’s technology for large machines will be accompanied to another production facility, where a 60-litre accumulator head machine suitable for moulds up to 3 meters in height will be on display.
